Turkish people don't have to integrate?
News of 16-8-2011: Turkish people who live in Holland with a residence permit are not anymore compulsory for the integration exam.
However, the Dutch Integration Exam in Turkey is still compulsory for Turkish people who do their first application for a residence permit.

New exam system on April 1st 2011
The examination of the Dutch "Basic Integration Exam" at Dutch consulates and embassies changed at
April 1st 2011. The pass score of the part of the exam that tests fluency
("Toets Gesproken Nederlands") increased to A1.
At the same date a 3rd part of exam is added that tests
literacy, reading and comprehension ("Geletterdheid en Begrijpend Lezen").
The 1st part of the exam, testing the knowledge of the Dutch Culture
("Kennis van de Nederlandse Samenleving"), didn't change.
As from April 1st 2011 the exam consists of three parts:
1) Dutch Culture Test
("Kennis van de Nederlandse Samenleving")
pass score: 70 out of 100
2) Spoken Dutch Test
("Toets Gesproken Nederlands")
pass score: 26 out of 80 (A1)
3) Reading / Comprehension Test
("Geletterdheid en Begrijpend Lezen")
pass score: 26 out of 35

| European Court decreases the income requirement
12-03-2010. Dutch people who want to bring their foreign partner to the Netherlands no longer have to have a salary of 120% of the minimum wage.
This requirement is declared invalid by the European Court.
The Dutch (demissionary / caretaker) government accepts this decision. The minimum wage and an annual contract are now the primary conditions. Hereby the Basic
Integration Test (that will become more difficult from the 1st of July 2010) is the main obstacle for family reunion of Dutch citizens with a foreign partner.
