European Court decreases the income requirement
12-03-2010. Dutch people who want to bring their foreign partner to the Netherlands no longer have to have a salary of 120% of the minimum wage. This requirement is declared invalid by the European Court.

The Dutch (demissionary / caretaker) government accepts this decision. The minimum wage and an annual contract are now the primary conditions. Hereby the Basic Integration Test (that will become more difficult from the 1st of July 2010) is the main obstacle for family reunion of Dutch citizens with a foreign partner.
